Print size: 34 x 44 cm / 13.5 x 17.5 inch
Enveloped within sprawling golden clouds, this scenic view outlines various ships and boats in a forward motion. The vast scape of the sea with several ships forms core of the foreground. The sails are appropriately represented fluttering in the air. Huge flags of the British Empire in hues of red on the ships, attribute to them a sense of authority.
The left corner of the foreground invites attention to detail with four men standing along with two small boats. Several boats are represented pulling off from the ships in a forward motion from the right side of this composition. Dressed in their official uniforms, these men wear khaki shirts with trousers and hats atop their heads, holding guns in their hands.
Golden sky in chromes of yellow reflects itself comprehensively on the waters below, occupying major ground in the pictorial. It is counterbalanced with a minimal coastline in the foreground, executed in the shades of deep brown. In western academic conventions, the coastline bridges itself with the sea, representing a subtle transition from one element to the other, towards the right of the marine view.

Description
The rich collection of Rashtrapati Bhavan has treasures dating from 3rd century B.C.E to contemporary times. The earliest attempt at cataloguing these works of art was undertaken in 1931 by Sir Evan Cotton on the directions of Lord Irwin, then Viceroy. Subsequently a systematic effort to research and compile information on the art collection was initiated only during the tenure of President Pranab Mukherjee who assumed office on July 25, 2012.
