He received his early education in Varanasi itself. Later on, he was educated at home in Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu and Persian languages. Being an eminent Hindi poet, dramatist and a novelist, Prasad was a multifaceted personality. He was awarded for his achievements throughout his life. He died of tuberculosis in Varanasi on 15th November 1937.
Chandragupta is Jaishankar’s prominent play. It is a play about the rise of Mauryan Empire founder Chandragupta Maurya and the fall of King Dhana Nanda, the ruler of superpower Magadh. Also, it is a story about Chanakya’s revenge and his beliefs.
