Pankaj Nigam was born in Hamirpur, a small district in the state of UP. His father, an art teacher, was the person who introduced him to the world of art. Pankaj Nigam’s art is a fusion of art and poetry, emotion and expression, and freedom and conformity. One look at his art and you feel like you are being taken through a journey of your own soul. His art is full of expression—thoughts, emotions, and feelings—that cannot be expressed comfortably in a world full of conventional beliefs. His art is about his observations about people—their innermost fears and desires. Most of his paintings reveal introspection of some kind. Behind those strokes, lines, and colors are real people who are going through some sort of transformation—epitomizing a chimera—people who are bound but want to be free, people who are scared but bravely facing the odds, or people who are weak but endeavor to be strong.
