Firuz Shah Tughluq was a Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388 AD. He was from Tughluq Dynasty. He sat on the throne after the death Muhammad bin Tughluq. Tughluq dynasty was of Turkish origin who ruled Delhi Sultanate in Medieval India. Firuz Shah Tughluq issued coins in gold, silver, copper and billon. Certain coins issued by him are with the name of Caliph Al-Hakim II, which may have started from the reign of Muhammad bin Tughluq and may have continued into the reign of Firuz Shah Tughluq. First gold and billon coins which he issued in his own name are dated from AH 759.
