The Kingdom of Bhutan has released several special postage stamps printed on foil in its history. Many of these are “coin-like” stamps, using the reflectiveness of foil to emulate the look (and design) of a coin. Others examples of these unusual Bhutanese stamps are printed on gold foil to commemorate various things.
In 1966, Bhutan issued a series of coin-like embossed stamps on gold foil in honor of King Jigme Wangchuk.
This is the original 1966 set of 9 un-issued coin stamps in Mint condition.
